Update On Covid-19 Regulations

Dear Friends,

The most recent Proclamation from Governor Kim Reynolds has been announced and is effective from Sunday, February 7, 2021, to Sunday, March 7, 2021.

The proclamation eliminates Iowa’s mask requirement, gathering limits, and other restrictions on businesses, which includes funeral homes, churches, etc.

Therefore, each funeral home, church, luncheon facility, cemetery and any other gathering space determines if masks are required and what is best for each situation regarding social distancing.

Although we recognize the importance of an individuals choice in the matter of face coverings and distancing,  safety of the public and our staff are paramount in our operation.  Therefore, Kale Funeral Home will continue to require face coverings and encourage social distancing at all visitations, funerals and memorial services.

  1. Funeral, memorial services, visitation and gatherings ARE ALLOWABLE without number restrictions at the funeral home or a church, however, social distancing is encouraged and face coverings will remain MANDATORY.
  2. Pallbearer and Family service vehicles remain unavailable.

Kale Funeral Home has and continues to remain diligent in keeping public safety as its top priority during these difficult times. The following items are currently in place to maintain the safety of the public as well as our staff.

  • Entrance and exit doors are clearly marked with the intention of creating a flow that does not allow cross traffic in the building.
  • Masks are a mandatory requirement of all visitors to enter the building and are required of our staff when interacting with any of the public.
  • Hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes are available throughout the building
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of door handles, high traffic areas and non-porous surfaces are completed every two (2) hours. Along with electrostatic spray disinfection following each visitation and service.
  • Barrier shields are available and utilized as needed.
  • Clean and sanitized pens are available at the register book.
  • Service folders and memorial donation envelopes are available for guests on a dedicated table in the chapel versus being handed out by staff
  • Public restrooms and water fountains are closed at this time.
  • Our buildings HVAC system is equipped with sanitizing airs scrubbers.
  • Arrangement conferences are limited to four (4) people. These conferences are also available virtually through Zoom upon request.
  • Our funeral home utilizes Family Link which allows a family to provide biographical and service information from the comfort of their home. (ask your funeral director for details)
  • Live streaming of funeral, memorial and graveside services are available at no extra cost during the pandemic.
  • Drive through visitation is also an option at our locations. This is when the family can greet callers as they remain in their cars and pull through the garage to express condolences to the family. (your funeral director can explain in more detail.)

Again, it is our mission to keep everyone safe during this time while providing the highest level of service to you, your family and loved ones. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Respectfully,

Todd Kale
